Summer 2004
Independent Project
Programmer
I worked with artist Cat Mazza to build knitPro. I worked as its sole programmer. Cat wanted to build a site that would allow people to create knitting patterns from images they had on their computer. I had the idea of turning those images into printable patterns so they could knit while away from their computers.
The site evolved into a simple web application where you can choose an image to upload, and the style of knitcraft that you want to create.
After you upload the image, you get a PDF knitting pattern in return.
knitPro, as part of the larger microRevolt site, won an honorable mention in Prix Ars Electronic 2005. The source code for knitPro is also available for download.
