Computer Art: Selected Works

I took Computer Art in the Spring Semester of 2002. The course was taught by Seth Cluett. The course has since been renamed Intermediate Digital Imaging, which probably gives you a better idea of what the course involved.

Below is a selection of some of the work I did for the class. The assignment is listed below the project title. If you have any questions or comments, please send me an e-mail at stonge@rpi.edu.

This work, and lot of my other work, is available from my home page.

  • Micro/Macro Surveillance

I made a piece that composited a map of Lake George over a slide of cancer cells. To me, this piece represented the onset of disease.

Further description and photographs available here.

    Identity Tag

I created an identity of a plant that seems to be following me around.

Further description and artwork available here.

    Movement in Still Space

I create an animated set of lips embedded with a poem to give technology a way to talk back.

Further description and artwork available here.

    Manifest Semiotics

I drew some chalk drawings over the RPI campus of common computer icons.
